i don't think the uploader knows what he means
glibc is one reason linux is so user unfriendly on the desktop. you cant just download an app and run it from a website, someone has to package it for exactly your glibc version and that sucks.
Is a big, statically linked binary not the same thing we get with flat packs etc. Now, where the binary calls on library functions, but those libraries, at the particular version the binary needs, are also supplied?? You still end up with an application taking up large space in memory etc.??
