I had an “accidental” appendectomy when I was having surgery to remove two huge ovarian tumors, and I’m glad I did. A nurse came to my room and told me what happened when I was lucid enough to understand. She explained that my surgeon had seen the state of my appendix and decided that it needed to come out because it was so inflamed according to the operative notes, and asked me if I’d like to discuss it with the patient advocate. Given the fact that I knew my surgeon wasn’t the type to just remove something on a whim, I said no. But I did ask my surgeon when he came to check on me and he said that it had been ready to burst at any moment and that the resulting sepsis could have taken my life if he hadn’t removed it. I had such good care from him that when I needed a repeat surgery two years later I didn’t even worry about anything because I knew he would be the one to do it. I was pissed that I needed a second surgery and that I was going to be stripped of my ability to have kids but I went along with it because that was the best way to make sure I had a good outcome after battling cancer. It’s been 6 years since the last surgery and it hasn’t come back yet. It will, but I’ll be ready.
They did this story with two members of staff who switched the babies after delivery during the exams. They thought the mom was unconscious or something. In that version, the assistant to the main official had a backbone and refused to give into selfishness.
The sad fact is, this is actually something that happens. Doctors are meant to protect our health and our lives but many of them only do the job for The Prestige and in some cases wealth that it brings them.
The falsification should have resulted in federal blacklisting and revocation of any ability to ever work in the medical field in any capacity forever. Then put all medical costs to fix their negligence on them in wage garnishment until all costs are repaid.
Yeah that is way too light of a punishment, one thing it to mess up but to cover it up endangering a new mothers life should be attempted murder and accessory to attempted murder
If I was wondering, the workers, there, specifically the energy Ology I don’t know how to say it. I would not have stood for that surgeon, and even if it cost me my job, my parents. If they found out that I would lie to the hospital they would dis on me. They would not stay for that and I do not stand for that either so even if I did do that, I would probably go jump in the ditch.
Who cares about disturbing the kid!!! Is not gonna mean jack crap if you go septic from an infection or something worse. And they don't have a Mama. Priorities trump sleep!!! I'd have been calling a social worker or hospital advocate SOOO fast!!! Those nurses should have been punished too!!!! You get asked for a loved one in the room, you get off ur lazy big butt and GET THEM!!!!
When I was in the hospital the surgeon also clipped my bladder. As soon as I was lucid she came in my hospital room and told me what happened. I got on my phone and looked up other surgeries similar to mine and discovered it happens quite frequently in surgeries like mine. It was the reason they had a team on call. To fix it before I even knew it happened. It was frustrating because it ment longer recovery time but my bladder works better then it had in years now. I really appreciate the fact they were frank with me. There had been other complications that weren't of their doing so the whole surgery was a series of miscalculations and major learning curves. They actually got a surgeon from the east cost on call because they needed expert advice on an unknown condition I have, that only shows up in a tiny percentage of people during surgery, and has no known pre testing for. They actually took excellent care of me.

Why did they take the baby when I was in hospital my baby never out of my sight or is this an American thing?

And people wonder why I DO NOT trust "medical professionals"
This is why many hospitals have cameras in the or now.
This reminds me of the snl skit where the surgeon(will farrel) accidentally cuts off the guys penis

WTF!? and these are supposed to be the surgons to be trusted!! FUK THAT
Thank God you understand them
Now I'm thinking of learning different languages so if that happess I'm not screwed
That surgeon should be incarcerated and forgotten. No human rights for such disgusting subhumans.
